Something New

The other day I was trying to think of something new to keep the girls busy so I could get some cleaning done. I was starting the dishes and the thought came to me that when I was little I loved pretending to cook. I told the girls to sit at the table and I gave them each a bowl and a spoon. They looked excited (probably thinking they were getting a snack). Next, I filled our little condiment cups with misc items. Old flour, pumpkin seeds, wheat berries...and I took out some old spices that I don't use anymore (marjoram, pepper, and basil).
They loved it! It didn't last as long as I had hopped, but they loved being able to mix together whatever they wanted. I asked them what they were making and Maylee said, "I don't know, we'll have to wait and see." She kept stirring and mixing and I kept washing the dishes. A few minutes later I looked over and Maylee was just putting a bite in her mouth. I couldn't help it and I started to laugh. "Oh no, Maylee, you are not suppose to really eat it, it's just pretend." And then Livia, seeing the whole thing said, "like this," and put her spoon towards her mouth but didn't let her concoction get near her lips as she made a crunching noise like she just took a bite of something. It was so cute.
After everything I gave them was in their little blue bowls and their little arms were tired from stirring, they decided to be done. Maylee put hers in the fridge when she was done. "So it can get yummy." She told me. (Not really sure if she really gets the idea of just pretending...with real food.)

My Favorite Things

Right now in my life one of my favorite things is alone time. Life is a little hectic with busy schedules, the noise that 3 (sometimes more) kids make, cleaning, being in young women's and everything else. So sometimes doing things on my own is really great. Like this week I have had 3 separate doctor appointments. (2 chiropractor and 1 prenatal) Even just driving by myself to the doctors office is sometimes fun for me.
Although it is nice every once in awhile to have alone time, I do have 3 other favorite things (people). Teagan, Maylee, and Livia. They are similar in ways (they all look alike) but are different in so many ways and I love spending time with each of them.

My Favorite things to do with Teagan: Cuddle, read books, talk about our favorite things.

My Favorite things to do with Maylee: Sing, dance, paint her toenails.

My favorite things to do with Livia: Kiss her cheeks (they are so kissable)

Another Day

Today was one of those days, but then again it seems like everyday is "one of those days." Teagan had school today and I woke up a little bit later then I wanted to. I was rushing to get his lunch ready before Andrew (the cutest little one-year old that I babysit) got there. I went to grab the peanut butter and realized that we don't have any bread. (I have not been keeping up with my usual bread making) so I racked my brain trying to think of what he could take to school with him. I opened the cupboard and saw a can of tuna. Well, I guess it's tuna and crackers today. Andrew arrived while I was mixing the tuna up. Everyone woke up on time and I thought it would be possible to walk to school today. (We have been running late so often lately, it doesn't happen as much as it used to) I was getting a little excited, but then noticed it was already late, the kids took longer than normal to eat. We ended up driving and Teagan getting there just in time, he has not been late one time this year! I had to drive in my pj's, but hey, he was on time, that's all that matters.
After being home for about 15 minutes, it's time to take the next one to school. (oh, during those 15 minutes I just laid on the couch, very uncharacteristic of me, but when your pregnant and you feel like crap, there's not much you can do. I load the kids up, again, and we head to preschool, but first stopping at Ellie's house to pick her up. (yeah, still in my pajama's)
So, I have 2 hours at home with just Livia and Andrew. That is very exciting. Livia...is, well, umm...Livia. Non-stop. I don't mean active, likes to run around. I am talking about going from climbing on the bathroom sink and eating medicine, to taking off her pull-up outside and pooping on the trampoline, then pushing a kitchen chair over to the counter and climbing up and eating the candy that's "hidden" on top of the fridge, to dumping Maylee's real glass tea set out and laughing while doing it, and knocking over and breaking my full-length mirror, to sticking a DVD in the VHS machine, ya know, just little things like that. (And that takes place all within an hour) And on top of that, having a one-year old watch everything she does! That just doesn't help. Oh, and the fact that this is by far the worst pregnancy so far. I am talking about morning...well, all-day sickness. AND I have this really annoying back thing that I get every time and I have to go to the chiropractor. Well I made the mistake of going to volleyball last night which didn't help my back at all and now it's to the point where I can't move.
Ok, let's see so I am only at about 10am. Well, the rest of the day went pretty much the same. wow, I sound really negative. Let's try again.
I love life! I really do! I love my kids, I love being pregnant! Well, ok, maybe not the last one so much, but I am VERY excited to have another baby, it is going to be great!! Life gets tough, but that's what it is all about.
But just like the song "tomorrow's another day...and I'm thirsty anyway,so bring on the rain."
